About the Mission:

The family of Raymond F. Fisher and Ray himself had requested that Patriot Guard Riders participate in his military honors funeral services. Ray, 76, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, with his family by his side at Haynes House of Hope in Granville.

Ray attended Fort Edward High School and during his senior year, enlisted into the United States Marine Corps.  He was trained as an Automobile Mechanic (Specialty Code 3521) and completed almost 10 years of active duty service, including 1 year and 4 months assigned to "A" Company, 7th Motor Transport Battalion (MTBN), part of the Force Logistics Command (FLC) in the Republic of Vietnam.  He was honorably discharged on 29 September 1975 at the rank of Sergeant, and for his service, was awarded a Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 device, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Meritorious Mast and a Letter of Appreciation.

Ray was a member of the American Legion in Hudson Falls, Post 574.

Special Information:

We will stand a flag line for the arrival of family and friends until 11:30.  A prayer service will be conducted until 12:00 pm, followed by a dignified transfer and escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 1:00 shelter service.

Ray was a member of the American Legion Riders at my post, and also participated a few times with PGR before his passing.
