About the Mission:
The family of George Edward Beaver, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. George, 95, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at his home surrounded by his daughter and granddaughters.
Born in Kansas City, MO, George was a graduate of Northeast High School and Smyth Technical School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 27 June 1947 until 27 June 1954. His active duty time included assignments aboard the Gearing-class destroyers USS Fred T. Berry (DD-858), and the USS Bausell. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Seaman, and for his service, was awarded the Japanese Occupation Medal and the China Service Medal.
After his military service, George was employed as a Senior Industrial Designer for General Electric in Schenectady. He was also the Building Inspector and Chief Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Mechanicville.
